Leading Cyber Ladies come together to celebrate the launch of the Bay Area Chapter!

Last week, I had the incredible honor of presenting my research, “The Dark Side of Innovation: How Nation-States Are Weaponizing AI in Cyberspace,” at the Leading Cyber Ladies event celebrating the launch of the Bay Area Chapter.

Despite landing in San Francisco just three hours before the event (after a 16-hour flight), the energy in the room, the inspiring women in cyber, and the meaningful discussions made it all worthwhile.

I explored how state and non-state actors—such as Iran, North Korea, China, and Russia—are leveraging AI for cyber operations.
We also discussed the urgent need to address AI-enabled cybercrime, information operations, and the emergence of AI agents as cyber attackers.
Additionally, I shared initial findings from our research initiative and the tabletop exercise we conducted last December at UC Berkeley.

A huge thank you to the Leading Cyber Ladies community for creating such an empowering and thoughtful space. And a shout out to Michal Goldshtein for leading the chapter, and the inspiring Helen Oakley for making this happen!

Seeing this global network expand into the Bay Area is exciting, and I’m grateful to be part of this journey.
