One last reflection from RSA Conference:
I attended an inspiring and thought-provoking panel at RSA on Next Gen Cybersecurity Workforce.
While listening, I thought everyone should hear these insights, especially when considering entering cybersecurity, and believing they lack the proper skill set unless they have studied CS.
My key takeaways:
– We need to embrace non-traditional backgrounds — talent can come from anywhere.
– Let’s lower the barriers to help more people enter the field.
– Public policy matters: building strong cybersecurity capabilities requires supportive frameworks.
– Most importantly, we must continue the conversation across sectors, disciplines, and communities.
Many thanks to the panelists for sharing their perspectives and for advocating for more inclusive cyberspace.
